Rescuers have discovered three more bodies after Tuesday's landslide in Bandung district of West Java province, Indonesia, bringing the total the death toll to four, an official said here on Wednesday.

Rescuers are still searching for nine people who went missing after the disaster, which also left nine people injured and more than 100 others fleeing home, Sutopo Purwo Nugroho, spokesman of the national disaster management agency, said.

The disaster has also damaged a gas pipeline owned by PT Star Energy, threatening the safety of nearby villagers, he told Xinhua by phone.

Eight houses were seriously damaged by landslide, Sutopo added.

Indonesia has been frequently hit by landslides caused by downpour during the rainy season.
