Snowfalls covered Qinghai Province and Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region in northwestern China.

In Ningxia, many areas saw their first snow of the year. But the cold didn't harm crops and livestock, as precautions had been taken ahead of time.

People in Yancheng in Jiangsu Province in eastern China also saw their first snowfall this year. Parts of the lower reaches of the Yellow River in Shandong Province have frozen. And many fishing boats have been trapped off shore by ice in the province's Laizhou Bay.
