China-ASEAN Summit Forum on Radio and TV opens

China-ASEAN Summit Forum on Radio and Television opened on Tuesday morning. Over 100 attendants from the media and government authorities in China and 10 ASEAN countries gathered in Beijing to celebrate the curtain-up ceremony. Delegates from ASEAN Secretariat also attended the ceremony.

This forum is sponsored by the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television of China (SARTF). Wang Taihua, minister of SARTF, delivered a welcome address at the ceremony, saying that radio and TV play important roles in enhancing friendship and mutual understanding between China and ASEAN.

He hoped that this forum could promote international exchange and cooperation of the radio and television industries.

This forum themed "Communication, Cooperation and Development" will run for three days. It will focus on 3 topics, namely Radio and TV policy, social responsibilities and the industrial development of the media.

At the end of the forum, the "Beijing Declaration of Exchange and Cooperation in Radio and Television Between China and ASEAN" will be issued and related agreements of cooperation will be signed.
