Cuba, Austria aim to boost economic cooperation

The 13th Session of the Mixed Commission for Economic, Industrial and Scientific-Technological Cooperation between Cuba and Austria began in Havana on Thursday, aiming to widen the cooperation on vital sectors.

The two countries are seeking to widen cooperation in energy, through the development of alternative sources and to energize the exchange of tourism, railway transportation, biotechnology and sugarcane production.

The intergovernmental meeting said Cuba and Austria agreed to strengthen their cooperative ties in diverse areas in order to benefit the development of both countries.

Cuba's Deputy Minister for Foreign Investment and Economic Cooperation Ricardo Guerrero Blanco headed the Cuban delegation, while Austrian Vice Minister for Economic Affairs and Labor Josef Mayer led the Austrian team. E
