Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao on Thursday expressed his hope to see the bilateral relationship between China and Singapore move to a higher level.

“We hope China and Singapore learn from each other and cooperate closely," said Wen, while meeting with Singaporean Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong, who is here to attend the the Annual Meeting of the New Champions 2009, also known as the Summer Davos.

He also hopes the two countries will promote the relationship and the cooperation between China and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) to a new high.

Goh said Singapore is willing to address the current global economic downturn along with China and discuss ways to enhance cooperation in the post-crisis era.
