Chinese Defense Minister Liang Guanglie met in Beijing on Thursday with visiting Philippine Air Force Commander Pedrito S. Cadungog.

Liang, also a state councilor, praised technological, cultural and economic cooperation between the two countries.

Armed forces witnessed stable development in recent years, he said. Liang added that he believed Cadungog's China visit would further promote cooperation between armed forces.

Liang also acknowledged the Philippines's adherence to the one-China policy and hoped for continues support on the issue.

Cadungog responded by saying the Philippines would firmly adhere to the one-China policy.
