Chinese FM, Rice discuss ties, six-party talks

Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi and US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice Friday discussed by phone bilateral ties and the six-party talks on the Korean Peninsula nuclear issue.

They exchanged views on efforts to implement agreements reached between the presidents of the two countries, on promoting sound and stable development of Sino-US constructive cooperation and on pushing forward the process of the six-party talks.

China has played host to the six-party talks, which also involve North Korea, the United States, South Korea, Russia and Japan.
