But the theatre branched out Saturday, and honoured Lakers star Kobe Bryant. Local sports commentator and former NFL player Jim Hill joined comedians George Lopez and Jimmy Kimmel and lauded Bryant for what he has done for the Lakers and the city of Los Angeles. Kobe Bryant, Los Angeles Lakers Player, said, "I feel like I've grown up with this city. We've had a lot of ups and downs, but here we are with five championships - plenty of more to go. I just feel extremely honoured to do this. It's never something I actually ever thought about. You know you see it in movies all of the time - the hands and the footprints, but I never thought in my wildest dreams that my hand and my footprint would be there next to Robert Downey Jr. and so many other great actors. Thank you very much. It's an honour. I love being in LA. I love the Lakers. And more championships to come. Thank you."
