Adjust font size:

The Spanish fencing team set the target of at least one medal at the Beijing Olympics, said coach Sandor Tabor in Beijing on Friday.

"We hope to win a medal at least. Fencing has a very long history in Spain, but, unfortunately, we haven't reaped any medals at the Olympic Games. I hope that we can make a breakthrough this time," said the coach after the training session at the Fencing Hall of the National Convention Center.

He also praised the facilities of the Fencing Hall, which, after the games, will be transformed in a modern conference room.

"I feel the light and piste in the venue are great. I'm comfortable with the temperature here. It's not very cold. All the athletes are feeling great now. They are confident for the upcoming competitions," he said.

Five Spanish fencers will compete on the fencing piste of the Beijing Olympics.
