New 'Diamond Decade' for China and ASEAN

On Oct.9, China' Premier Li Keqiang delivered a keynote speech on China's policy on ASEAN at the 16th China-ASEAN Leaders' Meeting in Brunei, and put forward a new framework for China-ASEAN cooperation, which was regarded as the guideline of China's "diamond decade" with ASEAN.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the strategic partnership between China and ASEAN; a historical starting point. Seizing this opportunity to propose a framework for wider-ranging, deeper and higher-level cooperation is favorable for China to promote China-ASEAN cooperation and explore new strategic breakthroughs for to the peace and stability of the whole region.

As Premier Li elaborated, the two consensuses and seven proposals underline the new leadership's political outlook on China-ASEAN partnership in the next decade.
