There are also a variety of human rights-related serial publications, such as China's Human Rights in Action, Annual Report on China's Human Rights (Blue Book of China's Human Rights), Yearbook of China's Human Rights, Chinese Yearbook of Human Rights, Human Rights Studies, Human Rights Law Review, China Human Rights Review, and a series of books on the theory and practice of the protection of the rights of socially disadvantaged groups.

Chinese scholars pay close attention to human rights theories, systems and practices. They show great concern for Marxist human rights theory, ancient and modern Chinese thoughts on human rights and modern Western human rights theory.

Chinese scholars also have a great interest in the various aspects of international, regional and domestic human rights protection systems. At the highest level, the focus is on international conventions on human rights and the United Nations' human rights safeguarding mechanism. The study of regional human rights protection systems mainly focuses on the European Convention on Human Rights, the European Court of Human Rights and related human rights safeguarding systems and mechanisms. At the domestic level, the focus is mainly on the establishment of a legal system to safeguard human rights.

In practical research, Chinese scholars show great concern for violations of domestic and international human rights by the United States and its double standard regarding respect for international human rights laws. Chinese scholars are also interested in learning about other countries' practices and experience in this regard in order to derive lessons from previous successes.

The subjects of human rights research in China are often migrant workers, criminal suspects and defendants, prisoners, people from ethnic minority groups or backgrounds, women, children left behind by their parents who seek jobs in cities, the elderly, the disabled, and those infected with HIV.

In recent years, human rights protection in the criminal justice and judicial systems has become a major focus. Research topics include human rights protection in administrative enforcement, human rights and the Internet, human rights' relationship to environmental protection, human rights in urban planning and redevelopment, international human rights protection mechanisms, and overseas Chinese citizens' human rights protection.

Such research plays an important role in the development of China's human rights. Many researchers participated in the formulation, implementation and appraisal of the National Human Rights Action Plan. They also participated in the creation of human rights legislation, and their proposals and opinions are included in government documents on human rights protection. Their views have been publicized through professional and social media, and their research topics have permeated school curricula with profound impact.
