International peony festival in Heze [wuhunews.cn]

Situated in the westernmost part of Shandong Province, Heze shares a border with Henan, Anhui and Jiangsu provinces. As a site of the ancient Longshan Culture, the administrative history of the city can be traced back to the 17th century BC. Heze is considered the "hometown of the peony." There are more than 1,100 kinds of peony planted in the city in all colors. The city holds an international peony festival every April when the peonies begin to blossom, attracting millions of travelers from home and abroad.
