Directed by Andrew Adamson and Vicky Jenson, the 2001 American computer-animated fantasy comedy film "Shrek" commercially exceeded expectations. Shrek, a big, strong, intimidating ogre agrees to rescue a beautiful princess, Fiona, from a dragon. The events following the rescue lead to their fairy-tale romance. With a simple plot, vivid animation and sophisticated humor, the films appeal to children and are also worthy of adult's interest. "Shrek" won the first ever Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. After the original smash hit film, three more sequels were created including "Shrek 2", "Shrek the Third", and "Shrek Forever After".
