Based on the fictional Marvel Comics superhero Spider-Man, the "Spider-Man" film series consists of "Spider-Man" (2002), "Spider-Man 2" (2004) and "Spider-Man 3" (2007). They were all directed by Sam Raimi. They tell the story of Peter Parker, a high-school student who becomes Spider-Man and develops spiderlike powers. With his great power, Parker discovers he must take on a great deal of responsibility. As a critical and financial success, the first "Spider-Man" film is considered the most successful film based on a comic book, leading to the production of two sequels.
