"Cultivation on The Peaceful Land "(150cm x 250cm), is a large-scaled ink-and-color on paper created in 1951 by famous Chinese master Xu Beihong (1895-1953), depicting the scene of three farmers cultivating their land. The piece, considered the most important work completed in Xu's later years, fetched US$36.68 million on Dec. 5 at Poly International Auction Co. in Beijing, a record for the artist.
