Canada was the world's 7th biggest gold producer in 2011. The country produced 110 tonnes of gold in 2011, a 20.9 percent increase compared to 2010. Ontario, Quebec and British Columbia contribute about 86 percent of Canada's total gold production, with the Red Lake Mine in Ontario, Canada's biggest gold mine, outputting more than half of the country's total.
