Luiz Felipe Scolari, also known as Phil Scolari or "Big Phil" in English-speaking countries, was born in 1948 in Brazil and also has Italian citizenship. From June 2001 to the end of 2002 he served as the head coach of the Brazilian national team. From July 2003 to June 2008 he was the manager of the Portuguese national team and led them to the final of the UEFA Euro in 2004 and a fourth place finish in the 2006 World Cup. In November 2012 he was hired again as Brazilian national manager, and led Brazil to the semifinal of this summer's World Cup.
