Cuandixia, also known as Chuandixia, is a hillside village that dates back to the Ming dynasty and has a history of more than 400 years. Located on a postal route in Zhaitang township, Mentougou district, Beijing, Cuandixia village is home to about 70 well-preserved quadrangle courtyards, which have been transformed into homestays for tourists by local villagers. The quaint village's simplicity and ongoing local customs make it a fine choice for city dwellers to spend the holidays.
