Emerald Island (Feicuidao)
The Emerald Island is located in the south of the gold coast of Changli County. It is 40 kilometers southeast of the Beidaihe seaside and 25 kilometers west of Changli County. The island covers 7 square kilometers and is called the "Jingdong Desert" (a desert east of Beijing).
Aside from the soft sands, clear waters and abundant sunshine, it is a paradise of birds, home to more than one-third of all varieties of birds found in China. What is more, the island is rich in medicinal herbs. On the island's west sea is the "Qili Sea," which is the largest lagoon in China at present.
Camping here is quite popular, but surfing and visiting the desert are also good choices for experiencing the beauty of the island.
Tips: camping here is free. Hotels are about 150 to 200 yuan each room per night on average under reservation.

Laoting
Laoting is famous for its abundant island tourism resources. There are three islands, called Puti, Yuetuo and Jinsha, which have become the most popular places to holiday near Beijing.
The three islands all have their own characteristics. Puti is the largest island in North China. The vegetation coverage is over 98 percent, and the island has more than 260 kinds of plants as well as some 400 kinds of birds.
Looking down on Yuetuo, the island takes the shape of the moon, and that's where it gets its name. Dutch-style gardens are a major highlight here. The traditional cabins, windmills and beautiful tulips attract visitors from around the world.
Jinsha (which means golden sand in English) Island got its name for its fine golden sand and its flat, clean beach. As an island in the center of the sea, with a lake in the center of the island and another island in the center of the lake, its scenery is so unique that it stands out from all other places.
Tips: Staying in a cabin at Yuetuo costs 140 to 170 yuan each room per night on weekdays and 230 to 260 yuan each room per night on weekends.

Suizhong
These days, more and more people prefer to go to Suizhong over Beidaihe and Nandaihe to spend their holidays. As compared with Beidaihe and Nandaihe, Suizhong not only is quieter and less crowded but has clear seawater as well.
The place is surrounded by historical and cultural tourist attractions and has a pleasant and moderate climate. It is a perfect summer resort to prevent sunstroke on weekends.
Tips: A homestay in a farm house costs 60 yuan each room per night on average.
