The ice flood in the Yellow River is considered another grand ceremony in Qikou town during the holiday. Standing on the bank, you can see a large group of broken ice cakes coming one after another. The sharp cracks of ice can be heard from afar. The whole Yellow River is compared to a huge snake molting its skin. The glorious sight is indeed rare to see.

Besides, there are many old buildings such as shops, time-honored brands and houses in Qikou town. Brick, stone and wood carvings endowed with Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties' styles are well worth visiting. The Heilong (black dragon) Temple, the landmark in the town, though small in size, shows the elaborate work of art and also attracts most visitors.

Transportation: take the long distance bus from Taiyuan to Lishi, then take the minibus from Lishi West Passenger Station to Qikou county. The whole journey takes about one hour.
