On Jan.13 of Chinese lunar new year, the fishing villages in the south of Haiyang, Yantai in Shandong Province will worship the sea for safety and harvest. At that time, people kill a pig as a sacrifice. The slaughtered pigs have a red flower between its lips and is covered by variegated silk, which points a good catch of fishes as fat as the pig. The fishermen also offer pasta in the shape of "two dragons playing the shining pearl" and "two fish playing in the water". Besides, people also dance yangko, beat drums and opera singing, making the celebration full of bustle, gaiety and animation.
