The Yinchuan International Airport Logistics Zone, located south of Yingchuan Hedong airport, east of the Yellow River, is poised to become the "Oriental Dubai" as a major logistics center.

The Zone, situated west of Ningdong National Energy Chemical Industry Base and south of Lingwu railway station, covers an area of around 4 million square meters. It has received a total investment of 4.73 billion yuan ($740 million).

Office buildings and hotels in the zone cover an area of 19,000 square meters, with a warehousing area of 22,000 square meters. Six notable logistics firms are based in the park.

According to the zone's management committee, Yingchuan's location at China's geometric center is a great advantage for the logistics center.

Muslim countries can also take full advantage of Ningxia Halal food production center and certification authority. Ningxia is planning a distribution centre for not only halal food, but also health care products and other Muslim supplies.

The construction of centre will be completed in 2020, and the annual distribution traffic is estimated to be 1.2 million tons of cargo.

A manager with the center said, the management is confident that the centre will become the "Oriental Dubai."

At present, international passenger and cargo flights are running from Yinchuan to Dubai, with a stopover in Kunming. This makes Yingchuan a city for air cargo bound for the Middle East.
