The fourth annual Mount Helan cliff carvings festival opened in the Mount Helan scenic area in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region on Oct. 11.

The festival aims to promote the cliff carvings as a prized part of local culture, the organizer said.

During the two-day festival, nearly one hundred international experts and scholars on cliff carvings and cultural tourism attended a seminar discussing the symbiotic development of the region’s cultural and tourism industries.
