Yinchuan's Mingcui Lake National Wetland Park, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, recently won the award of China's Best Wetland in Ecological Conservation due to its rich biological diversities and spectacular landscape.

The park and five other wetland attractions emerged out of nearly 700 national and regional wetland candidates that took on a comprehensive review in the campaign "Find the Most Beautiful Wetland in China." The contest was organized by China Economy Weekly and the branch office of the Wetlands International in China over the past ten month.

The review evaluated the ecosystem integrity, biodiversity, wetland cultures and seven other aspects of the wetlands by a board of experts in climatology, oceanology and biology in a bid to raise public awareness of wetland conservation and promote the values of wetland protection.
