Situated in Helan County, Ningxia Green and Biodegradable Products Development Co. Ltd. is a company specialized in biodegradable products including cups, toothpicks, combs and boxes. These products are made of starch. The company also recycles the used products to make non-food utensils such as flower pots and clothes racks.

Since the first 2000–ton production line was launched in 2010, it has sold its products to 1200 restaurants in Ningxia with a monthly sales of 4.5 million sets. In addition, Beijing Capital International Airport, a French airline and agricultural institutions in the United States also joined the customer pool. Among them, the French airline has signed a five-year contract with the company, worth 109 million yuan (US$17.3 million).

In order to meet the demand, it now has invested another 60 million yuan (US$9.51 million) in order to expand its annual output to a total of up to 10,000 tons worth over 200 million yuan.

These products are healthy and can be decomposed in six months to one year.
