On Mar 7, the Ningxia government signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Aluminum Corporation of China (CHINALCO) in Beijing, clearly demonstrating how the strategic cooperation of the Ningxia government and CHINALCO has now entered a stage of substantial development.

Zhang Yi, Secretary of the CPC Ningxia Hui Autonomous Regional Committee, said that Guyuan City of Ningxia features abundant land and coal mine resources as well as other excellent bases for developments. It has the unique advantage to engage in coal-fired electricity aluminum projects. The cooperation with Aluminum Corporation of China will play a key role in promoting the development of the Xihaigu Region of Ningxia.

Xiong Weiping, General Manager of CHINALCO,said that they will take on the responsibility to make great achievements and to promote the overall transformation and upgrading of industries in Ningxia.

The agreement will take Ningxia Electric Power Group Co. Ltd as a platform to accelerate the integration of coal-fired and aluminum industries, plus the upgrading and optimization of industries.

CHINALCO will also join in the construction of the Yellow River Economic Zone and participate in public charities.
