Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region's first 20 electricity-powered taxis drove the streets of the capital Yinchuan on March 30.

The taxi is able to run more than 100 kilometers with a max speed reaching 100 kilometers per hour at a full charge, which may cost 15 kilowatt-hours of powers. Battery-swapping is available if the taxi's power runs out.

Two charging stations have been built for passenger vehicles in Yinchuan. The Ningxia Power Company is scheduled to launch more such stations within this year in a bid to provide a fundamental guarantee for the development of the region's electric vehicle market.
