Beginning April 17, tourists bound for South Korea were able to get their passports within five days of filling in an application via nine specified travel agencies in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, according to the region's Exit-Entry Administration of Yinchuan Public Security Bureau.
On March 24, the Yinchuan Airport launched the region's first direct flight to Seoul, with two flights per week.
As of April 15, the Administration had received and approved 1,547 applications for ordinary passports for visit to South Korea, up 320 percent from the previous year.
