The passenger and freight transport systems between the Ningxia Hui and Inner Mongolia autonomous regions will be enhanced over the next three to five years in order to realize a one-day transport circle, according to the signing ceremony of the regional transport cooperation plan between Ningxia and Inner Mongolia.
The number of interprovincial passenger transport lines between the two regions now totals 110, with their transportation volume surpassing 3.6 million people per year. The mushroom development of coal, ferro-silicon, agricultural and animal products and building materials logistics in the two regions also requires a highly efficient freight transport system. The Hohhot-Baotou-Yinchuan one-day transport circle and the Yinchuan-centered half-a-day transport circle will be set up in the near future, according to a spokesman for the conference.
