Ningxia’s first energy storage program for solar and wind power integration has passed the so-called “Green Passage,” a policy adopted by the Ministry of Environmental Protection of the People’s Republic of China in a bid to speed up the approval of industrial projects.

According to the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region authorities, this program will get underway in September at the Taiyangshan Development Zone of Wuzhong City, and will be completed in August of next year, with investment totaling at 509.7 million yuan. Environmental investment is 2 million yuan.

In response to the intermittent defect of the wind power and solar power systems, a unit of a grid-connected wind power system, grid-connected solar power system and grid-connected energy-storage system will be created. This unit is also a solution for the energy deficiency in power plant construction.
