A panel discussion of all deputies to the 12th National People’s Congress (NPC) was held on the afternoon of March 5 to discuss the Annual Government Work delivered by Premier Li Keqiang earlier that morning.

Chen Changzhi, an NPC deputy and vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the 12th NPC and Wang Zhengwei, an NPC deputy, vice-chairman of the CPPCC National Committee and president of the State Ethnic Affairs Commission, joined the panel and held speeches.

“It is a pragmatic and innovative reform report,” Chen said and expressed his full agreement. Wang particularly pointed out that the country will enhance its support to the impoverished areas of western China, the minorities and other impoverished areas through development.

Liu Hui, an NPC deputy and chairperson of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, expressed that the report is factual and realistic, themed “Deepening Reform, transformation and improving the people’s livelihood.” It is a great opportunity for Ningxia to accelerate its development as much emphasis will be laid on the central and western regions of China, she added.
