The Second National Desert Body-building and Sports Competition is scheduled to be held at the Shapotou Scenic Spot in Zhongwei City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, from Sept. 1 to 5. A total of 600 desert sport enthusiasts from 30 teams across China will take part in the competition.

The sports in the competition will include desert football, volleyball, tug of war, snowballs, triathlon, warrior, karting, sand surfing and sliding. The city of Zhongwei is located in the southern part of the Tengger Desert and has successfully held several sports activities over the past few years.
