Ningxia to be the energy base on Silk Road

Ningxia, as the first economic pilot area of inland China, is to be constructed as an important energy base on the Silk Road.

Ningxia has a distinct advantage in resources, especially in non-metallic mineral resources, including coal, oil, gypsum, etc. Ningxia ranks the first in gypsum reserves in China with 2 billion tons of gypsum in one large mineral deposit. The explored reserves of coal are over 30 billion tons which ranks the 5th in China. The annual export of the world famous Taixi anthracite has reached 1 million tons.

Nowadays, Nixing is speeding up the construction of the economic belt on Silk Road and strives to become an important base for energy processing and reserve. The natural gas pipeline between China and Kazakhstan has been put into use, and another one connecting China, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan is under construction. Ningxia is taking advantage of its equipment manufacturing and technology development to promote cooperation with Central Asia and Middle East.

With abundant resources and energy projects undergoing, Ningxia is going to be the energy processing and reserve base on the Silk Road.
