Yinchuan won Asian Townscape Awards 2014

Yinchuan won the Asian Townscape Awards 2014 with its characteristic of ‘Ecological City, Inhabitable Yinchuan’ in the 2014 Asian Townscape Awards Ceremony-Experience Introduction and Communication Conference in Fukuoka on November 18th. It was the superlative international awards that Yinchuan had obtained so far for its city’s construction. Yinchuan is the second city in northwest of China that gets the awards after Xi’an.

The awards ceremony was held by the UN Habitat, Asian Habitat Society, Fukuoka Asian Urban Research Center and Asian Townscape Design Society. 48 cities from 12 countries, including Japan, South Korea and China, have achieved the awards since 2010. The theme of the awards in 2014 was to build a happiness future through sustainable townscape. The cities in China who won the awards were Yinchuan, Wuzhen and Xishui, which were from Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, Zhejiang and Guizhou Provinces respectively. Also, the next Asian Habitat Summit and the Asian Townscape Awards Ceremony-Experience Introduction and Communication Conference will be held in Yinchuan.

Yinchuan has combined the eco-environment with the habitat environment since 2005 and invested more than 100 million yuan in afforestation construction. The citizens will enjoy the green grass everywhere now.
