Chinese wolfberry industry blossoms in Ningxia

After upgrading the whole industrial chain in an all-round way, the Chinese wolfberry industry in NingXia experienced a great increase in Q1. The income of ZhongNing County reached 466.62 million yuan, increasing 40% compared with last year.

In recent years, ZhongNing has adopted business model of “company + base + standardization", which covered moderate scale management, pest control, mechanical drying, high efficient water-saving irrigation, soil testing and fertilization and standardized cultivation. Zhongning county has planted over 100 thousand acre's wolfberry.

In 2014, the brand value of Zhongning wolfberry was 2342 million yuan, ranking fifth among national agricultural product brands. To maintain this position, ZhongNing established a quality traceability system for the whole production process, which could be used by customers through scanning a QR code.

And 298 merchants’ permitted cards to use the “Zhongning Wolfberry” trademark were withdrew to establish new qualifications for using that trademark. At present, the first 14 wolfberry planting and processing enterprises have been verified and qualified.

Zhongning County actively built electronic business platform and established Chinese wolfberry delivery service center of Bohai Mercantile Exchange, China's largest electronic commodity exchange, in July, making the change from visible market to invisible market. From January to March, The Chinese wolfberry turnover reached 340 million yuan, occupying over 80% of the total transaction.
