Ningxia promotional event kicks off in Beijing

A promotional event centered on the theme of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region was held in Beijing on March 2. Titled “An Open China: From Ningxia to the World,” the event is the first of series of activities featuring the presentation of Chinese provinces to the world held by China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Dubbed “Incredible Ningxia: An Oasis in the Hinterland”, the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, located in northwestern China, boasts abundant farm produce, beautiful natural scenery and a favorable business environment. The population of the Hui people in Ningxia is 2.36 million, accounting for over one third of the total population in Ningxia and making Ningxia the province with the largest Hui population nationwide.

China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi, the Party Secretary of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region Li Jianhua, the Chairperson of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region Liu Hui and many foreign ambassadors to China attended the event.

China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi delivered a speech on China’s diplomacy and his impressions regarding Ningxia.

The CPC Party Secretary of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region Li Jianhua gave a speech reviewing Ningxia’s development course in recent years.

The Chairperson of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region Liu Hui delivered a speech on Ningxia’s advantages in habitation, entrepreneurship and travel.

Various kinds of renowned Ningxia products, namely, Goji berries, wine produced at Helan Mountain’s East Foothill Wine Region, Halal food and wool sweaters were also exhibited during the event.
