A series of commemorative activities of the International Day of Peace will be held in the city of Yinchuan, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, from September 20 to 22. It is jointly held by the Chinese People’s Association for Peace and Disarmament, the United Nations in China and the government of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.

Themed with “People Anticipating Sustainable Peace and Development,” the event will be attended by government leaders, NGO delegates and think tanks from 33 countries and experts and scholars from China.

The International Day of Peace, which falls on September 21 every year, is set by the United Nations to call on people to safeguard peace and oppose wars.
