The integrated development of photovoltaic industry, agriculture, forestry and rural tourism in Hongsibu District of Wuzhong City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, has accelerated poverty alleviation there over the past few years.

From 2011 to 2015, some 31,500 people living in poverty were relocated from Guyuan City to Hongsibu District. A total of ten targeted poverty alleviation efforts, including industrial, photovoltaic and financial means, were adopted to step up infrastructure construction, foster Chinese wolfberry, grape and other pillar industries and create job opportunities for immigrants.

A new energy company invested 720 million yuan in building up 1000 modern photovoltaic greenhouses, whose management and fruit plucking created 45 million yuan salaries for immigrants.

Some 3000 cattle pens in the district were renovated with photovoltaic facilities to integrate powering with raising cattle. Another company from Jiangsu Province invested 3.3 billion yuan in constructing photovoltaic stations and agriculture greenhouses in Hongsibu District, so as to promote poverty alleviation there.
