Twelve European panda fans arrived at Jianmen Shudao Tourist Area in Guangyuan City, Sichuan Province, on August 18, 2015.
The tourist area is a national cultural and natural heritage. It consists of tourist attractions including the Cuiyun Corridor, Jianmen Pass, Zhaohua Ancient Town, Huangze Temple, Qianfo Cliff, Mingyue Gorge and Xuexi Cave.
The panda fans planted cypresses, which symbolize peace and friendship at Cuiyun Corridor, and enjoyed Sichuan Opera performances on August 18.
They visited the tourist area on August 19, and were amazed by the spectacular Jianmen Pass. Jianmen Pass, a mountain pass located southwest of Guangyuan City, is famous not only for the beauty of its steep slopes, but for its strategic importance in ancient times.
The panda fans are selected from six European countries, including the UK, France, Spain, Germany, Belgium and Austria.
They are participants of the lage-scale tourism promotion activity --"Travel the Southern Silk Road, Visit the Homeland of Panda-European Panda Fans Travel to Sichuan"--launched by Sichuan Provincial Tourism Bureau in November 2014.
