Editor's note: Giant pandas' diet is almost entirely based on bamboo. However, the cute creature occasionally likes to have a taste of something new. At about 5 p.m. on Sept. 8, an adult wild giant panda was found eating up more than 10 hives of honey at a village bee yard in Yongfu Township, Baoxing County of Sichuan Province. Zoologists from the local forestry bureau rushed over to the site to take protective measures after hearing the news from villagers. The panda ate and drank its fill and disappeared into the nearby mountains later. According to Wu Ping, vice township head, the ecological environment is very good in the area with rich wildlife and plant resources, and nowadays it is common occurrence that wild giant pandas sneak into local villages for foods.
