Chengdu is set to host the 22nd World Route Development Forum between Sept. 24 and Sept. 27, making it the second Chinese city after Beijing to hold the world’s most important route development event.

The grand event is expected to gather around 3,500 delgates from more than 350 leading airlines, 1,200 airports and 200 government authorities and international organizations.

A series of activities will be staged during the four-day event, including keynote speeches, strategic summit forums, a tourism summit, urban touring, exhibitions and folk performances.

The tourism summit is one of the highlights at this year's forum. Industrial experts and decision-makers will be invited to share their views on the integrated development of tourism, aviation and economy to creat new opportunities for Chengdu to build itself into a global tourism destination and international shopping center. It is the first time that such a summit will be organized during the event.
