Hao Hao, a panda from the Giant Panda Protection and Research Center of China (GPPRCC) now living in Belgium, made a public appearance together with her baby on August 6.

The decision for the public appearance was made after deliberation by GPPRCC breeding experts and Belgium’s Pairi Daiza on August 2.

During the public appearance in an indoor facility, Hao Hao appeared to be a little nervous at first and moved about with her baby in her mouth. But three hours later, she gradually relaxed and began to pick and eat bamboos and steamed corn bread.

Pairi Daiza saw a peak of tourists as more than 20,000 people came to meet the pandas and is expecting more panda lovers to come.

Hao Hao gave birth to her panda cub on June 2. The male baby panda is the first panda born in Belgium and it is also the first panda born outside China this year.
