Travel E-commerce Conference underscores Internet Plus Travel strategy

The Fifth Global Travel E-Commerce Conference (GTEC 2016) kicked off Monday in Dujiangyan, southwest China's Sichuan province.

 

With the theme of "Internet Plus Travel," the three-day event is organized by Chengdu government, Sichuan Provincial Tourism Development Committee, Dujiangyan government, Chengdu Municipal Tourism Administration and Sichuan Provincial Tourist Information Center.

As one of influential tourist internet conferences, the event brings together over 300 top-notch enterprises from over ten countries and regions such as China, US, Russia, UK, France, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Czech, India, Poland and Singapore.

The theme of conference focuses on the strategies of 'Belt and Road,' and 'Internet +,' and 'Region-based Tourism' and combines the Dujiangyan's promotion of Taoist culture.

As a major platform for exchanges and cooperation among people and companies in the business of travel e-commerce, the conference features activities displaying scenic view of Chengdu and Dujiangyan, keynote speech, signing ceremony and high-tech exhibition.

This year's conference is also characterized by advanced technologies. It introduces advanced live broadcasting platform, showcases the application of big data, cloud computing and artificial intelligence and a VR interactive area of 'Sichuan, More Than Pandas.'

Live broadcasting of scenic spots using smart equipment and technologies have attracted much attention from participants and audience.
