Sichuan Int’l Travel Expo to open on Sept. 22

The Third Sichuan International Travel Expo will open in Emeishan City on September 22.

The expo, which will last through September 28, is comprised of eight main activities, including a summit forum, a conference for travel professionals in the Asia-Pacific region, publicity weeks of the guest country of honor and the featured city, a ceremony to inaugurate a crowd innovation tourism alliance for southwest China, the experience of excellent tourist routes of Sichuan, a signing ceremony of Sichuan’s tourism projects and a launching ceremony of Leshan city’s overseas promotional campaign.

The 2016 International Emei Mountain Climbing Festival and the Sichuan Emei Mountain Buddhism-themed Music Festival will take place concurrently.

So far, Exhibitors from forty-two countries including the United States, Germany, France, Malaysia, Japan and South Korea, fourteen Chinese provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions including Liaoning, Guangdong and Inner Mongolia, and a number of tourism companies such as Ctrip and Tuniu, has confirmed their attendance.

The floor area, totaling 66,000 square meters, will be divided into four sections, for business talks, exhibition and promotion, tourism commodities and outdoor experiences respectively.

A 300-square-meter Chengdu Pavilion will be set up to displace the city’s tourism image and products.

Thailand, the guest country of honor, and Meishan, the featured city, will have their publicity weeks for the first time this year. Thailand will bring 30 travel companies to this year’s session.
