A giant panda flash mob was staged in Moscow on August 29 as part of Sichuan’s marketing campaign in Russia.

People dressed like giant pandas danced to music, attracting a big local crowd. Many local people posed with the “giant pandas.”

On the same day, the Sichuan Tourism Development Commission (STDC) held a road show in the city to display its rich tourism resources to tourism professionals and members of the public in Russia.

Wang Jichun, an STDC official, extended his warm welcome to Russian people to travel around or do business in Sichuan.

“We invite all of you to come to Sichuan to enjoy its unique natural landscape and splendid State of Shu culture personally,”said Wang. Tourism officials from different Russian localities spoke highly of Sichuan’s tourism appeal, hoping the road show could usher in more cooperation and be translated into more arrivals of Russian tourists in Sichuan.

An official from Ciscaucasia said he is planning a visit to Sichuan in the near future in order to expand cooperation space with Sichuan’s tourism industry.

Meng Gang, Vice Chairman of Sichuan Tourism Association, introduced Sichuan’s tourism to attendants of the road show.
