Chengdu plans to open more direct flights to foreign cities

The World Route Development Forum, the largest and most influential civil aviation event in the world, is going to convene its 22th session in Chengdu from September 24 to 27.

Chengdu is the second Chinese city after Beijing to host the event, which is dubbed the Olympics and World Expo in the field of civil aviation.

Representatives from worldwide airlines, airports, government agencies and international organizations will attend the Chengdu event, which will consist of keynote speeches, a strategic summit forum for world route development, a tourism summit forum, one-to-one business talks, urban sightseeing tours and exhibitions.

At the tourism summit forum, experts and executives of travel companies will discuss the coordinated development of tourism, aviation and economy and contribute wisdom to Chengdu’s efforts to build a world tourist destination and an international shopping paradise.

Representatives from Chengdu will also engage in one-to-one talks with targeted airlines from both home and abroad on opening direct flights to Chengdu from a number of foreign cities.
