Running Wild with Bear Grylls to shoot episode in Sichuan

Bear Grylls, widely known for hosting Man vs. Wild, a thrilling survival skills reality show on the Discovery Channel, arrived at Hongyuan Airport of Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan on Monday evening, Chengdu Economic Daily reported Wednesday.

He’s here for shooting an episode for the Chinese edition of Running Wild with Bear Grylls, another survival in the wilderness reality show of his.

For the Aba adventure, he will take Chinese Rio Olympic medal-winning swimmer Fu Yuanhui with him to challenge the Rongan Grand Canyon and the Manzhatang Wetland.

In a post on his Sina Weibo official account on August 27, Bear Grylls discribed Fu Yuanhui as an optimistic while bizarrely cool girl while sending the professional swimmer an invitation to appear in his show.

For Running Wild with Bear Grylls, Bear Grylls brings a different celebrity with him along his adventure. U.S. President Barack Obama was featured in one of the show’s episode.

The shooting will last through Sunday.

Aba is located in the south of Sichuan Province, bordering Gansu to the north and northeast and Qinghai to the northwest. It boasts many places of interest, including the Wolong National Nature Reserve for giant pandas and Jiuzhaigou, a nature reserve known for its many waterfalls and colorful lakes.
