Chengdu int'l travel expo opens

The 2016 Chengdu International Travel Expo (CITE) opens Friday in Chengdu, capital city of southwest China's Sichuan Province, gathering professionals from more than 400 tourism-related institutions in over 40 countries and regions.

The expo, the fourth edition of its kind, runs between December 2 and 4 at the Century City New International Convention and Exhibition Center.

Sri Lanka, the "Guest Country" at the three-day expo, will stage a variety of promotions and dancing performances to help both professional visitors and the public get closer to the country, which is dubbed "Wonder of Asia."

Silver tourism will be a focus at this year's expo, with a forum on maketing towards senior travellers held on December 2.

A great number of well-known travel operators, including Club Med and iGola, will meet the public with diversified tourism products at unbelievable discounts.

The event, the fourth edition of its kind, is co-hosted by the Conference & Exhibition Management Services Pte Ltd and CEMS (Beijing) Conference & Exhibition Co., Ltd.

It offers a grand platform for tourism organizations, travel operators, destinations and airlines to find new cooperation opportunities through an array of activities, including exhibitions, biz-talks and networking sessions.
