How yummy is Sichuan Cuisine?

Now you can find more information in "Sichuan Gourmet Trail," a guidebook newly published by London-based Time Out Digital Ltd. , a multi-channel media company noted for its flagship publication Time Out magazine.

The book is a guide to what tourists want to explore during a gourmet adventure tour in the province, including an introduction to Sichuan and Sichuan Cuisine, classical Sichuan dishes, interviews, gourmet tour routes, famous restaurants and travel tips.

The book's publication is part of a special event--Sichuan Cuisine Restaurant Certification and Global Marketing Campaign of the Sichuan Gourmet Tour launched on April 13.

The event, under a theme of "Sichuan Cuisine - more than just taste," aims to discover the best Sichuan style restaurants in the world and promote the international reputation of the spicy cuisine.

It is co-organized by the Sichuan Provincial Tourism Development Committee and the Sichuan Provincial Department of Commerce.

Every year, a certain number of Sichuan-style food outlets will be recognized as Golden, Silver and Bronze Panda restaurants through the event if they meet the certification criteria on food authenticity (including selection of food materials, preparation and actual cooking), service quality, catering environment, food and wine/tea pairing and cultural highlights.
