China Philosophy Town makes debut

China Philosophy Town made its debut at the 16th Western China International Fair(WCIF) in mid-November in Jintang County, Chengdu City .

The philosophy town is based in Wufeng Ancient Town, hometown of He Lin (1902-1992), a famous modern Chinese philosopher and expert on Hegel's philosophy.

The Sino-German Cultural Exchange Model Zone was also launched during the fair, with deals worth around 5 billion yuan inked to promote cooperaiton in cultural tourism industry between China and Germany.

The zone will include a library on philosophy with a collection of more than 500,000 volumes and an academic exchange center.

With full amenities, the zone is developed for purposes such as education, research, seminars and holiday taking.

It is the first large-scale cultural tourism project between Chengdu, capital city of Sichuan Province and Germany.
